Isaiah 1:1-9, Matthew 9:9-13
The essence: what sin is. Isaiah calls sin dumb. It is folly. Wisdom is not the same thing as intelligence in Scripture. Sin is trying to swim upstream It's being at odds with how things work. God comes into the story like a passionate mother who cares for her children. Why would you break faith with that God?
