OUR VISION & VALUES

Our Core Values

At Apostles, we are committed to the following seven Core Values:

1. Authority
We desire to surrender our lives unconditionally to the leadership of God the Father, through Jesus the Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We are committed to the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, and we are convinced that His Word transforms lives.

Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 2:42a, 2 Timothy 3:16-17

2. Expectancy
We expect that God will be powerfully present to heal, equip, and transform our lives - whenever and wherever we meet together. We hope to see this in powerful worship, meaningful ministries, and authentic Community Groups.

We expect that God will hear our prayers and that the witness and work of the church will flow from our individual and corporate communication with Him.

Acts 2:43, Philippians 4:6-7, Proverbs 3:4-6

3. Community
We are committed to welcoming and accepting anyone who wants to explore and experience the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ.

We are committed to seeing that everyone belongs to a community group, which gathers for Bible study, encouragement, prayer, and service.

Matthew 18:20, Galatians 6:2, Acts 4:32-35

4. Maturity
We desire to be known as a church where people care deeply for others around them.

We desire to use all the spiritual gifts that God has given to us to build up His church.

We desire to see our congregation give sacrificially in a way that resembles how Jesus gave His life for us.

Matthew 5:3-12, Galatians 5:22-25, 1 Corinthians 13

5. Destiny
We are committed to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with everyone around us.

We are committed to planting new churches throughout the Triangle and beyond.

We are committed to supporting missionaries as they share the good news of Jesus Christ around the world.

Matthew 28:18-20, Revelation 7:9-10, Mark 13:10

6. History
We are part of the Anglican Mission in America and committed to her mission, strategies, and core beliefs.

We believe in the sacramental nature of the church and value the Anglican distinctives in liturgy formed through the prayers, faith and experiences of our fathers in the faith.

We believe that meaningful church life combines the very best of ancient and future models.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Matthew 9:16-18

7. The City
We believe that the gospel transforms the way we approach every area of life (including the arts, business, sciences, government, media, and the academic world). Therefore, we are committed to equipping people to make an impact on the culture of our city.

We believe the gospel calls us to show practical care for the poor and broken of our city, and to help bring about God’s justice on earth.

Matthew 5:13-16, Luke 4:18-19
