In 1997, we moved to Raleigh from Ann Arbor, Michigan, where we had lived for six years. I have been married to my wonderful husband John for 32 years, and we have two children, Brian (27) and Melissa (24), who both currently work and reside in New York City. I was born and raised in a town called Paris, Illinois, located about 200 miles south of Chicago. My family has a farm there; we raise corn, soybeans and beef cattle.

I was able to continue serving the Lord as a Children's Leader in Bible Study Fellowship when we moved to Raleigh. I have been privileged to serve in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) in this capacity for over 14 years. I have also enjoyed serving as the Director of Children's Ministry in a church in Omaha, Nebraska, and at another church in Raleigh before feeling the call to come to The Church of the Apostles. I consider it to be a real blessing from the Lord to be here.

I received a B.A. degree in Biology Education from the University of Illinois in 1971, and have finished all of the course work for my Master's Degree in Secondary Education. I taught high school biology in the Chicago suburbs for five years and was then able to stay home as we raised our two children.

I enjoy traveling with my family, gardening, painting (on canvas – not the house), reading and teaching God's Word to children. One of my favorite Scriptures is Psalm 119:11, "I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You". My passion is to hide God's Word in the hearts of our next generation with the power of the Holy Spirit. I am honored to be able to continue this Ministry that I love, and give God all the honor and glory for allowing me to teach your children here at Apostles.
