What’s it like to come to worship at Apostles? Our desire is to engage with God in different ways: with music, art, Scripture, prayer, story, drama and communion. We sing of God’s greatness using all kinds of instruments—guitars, natural piano and digital keyboard, acoustic drums, congas, trumpets, violins, shakers and our voices, to name a few. And we sing modern songs, old beautiful hymns, as well as songs written by our own musicians. We look into the Bible and thoughtfully teach God’s message in the Scriptures. We come to God in prayer with our needs and our thanks, and we reaffirm the ancient creeds of Christianity that proclaim the character and work of God. Some weeks, we listen to the story of God’s work in the life of a congregation member. Other times, we enact the Scriptures, illuminating the narrative of God’s initiative with all of us. In some seasons, we display well-crafted paintings, photography, and sculpture that evoke the nature of God. And every week, we approach God through communion, taking the bread and wine as a reminder of the work of Jesus to draw the world to God. Ultimately, we seek to honor God in all these things, and we would love for you to join us. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”
