While I was growing up, my Dad's job with the federal government prompted us to move every few years. So I was born in Pasadena, CA, but soon we moved to Virginia and then onto various states in the Midwest (Minnesota, Ohio, and Michigan).

I graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Wheaton College (IL) in 1995 and then worked for a few years in the Washington D.C. area. During that time, I sensed God calling me to get my Master of Divinity degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago. While I was in seminary, I met my wife Stephanie (we were set up on a blind date!)

In 2001, Stephanie and I moved to Raleigh to serve with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at N.C. State and Meredith College. We had a great four years working with college students, and we enjoyed seeing how God was at work on campus.

But in 2005 we sensed that God was calling us to leave campus ministry, and leading me to serve here at Apostles on the pastoral staff team. I am excited to see how God is at work in the life of our church.

My hobbies include enjoy reading (particularly books on American history), playing disc golf, riding my bike, and following my beloved Boston Red Sox. I also love spending time with my wife and our daughters, Lizzie and Rachel.

My great passion is to see people come to experience the transforming power of Jesus Christ. My prayer for our ministry here at Apostles echoes Paul's word's in Ephesians 3:17-18, "I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ".
