MEN'S MINISTRY

References

These are books that we have found useful in exploring our roles as men:

Role as a father

Shepherding a Child's Heart - Tedd Tripp
This is a good resource for biblical parenting, starting at a young age.

Raising a Modern-Day Knight - Robert Lewis
Following our 2006 Fall Retreat where we learned about “Calling out Sons”, this provides good material on how to prepare your son to become a man.

Preparing your Son for Every Man's Battle - Stephen Arterburn & Fred Stoeker
This book will help you to have conversations with your son about sexuality BEFORE your son hits puberty.  It also has great insights about how to communicate and build your relationship with your children.

Role as a Godly man

Wild at Heart – John Eldredge
A battle to fight, an adventure to live, a beauty to rescue …what else is there to say

The Man God Uses – Henry & Tom Blackaby
Reference book used in Men’s study, Fall 2005

Role as Husband

Love & Respect – Emerson Eggerichs
This is great for unpacking the difference between men & women and how to overcome battles about marital communication.
