Ford Jordan ford@apostles-raleigh.org In many ways, joining the staff at Apostles has felt like coming home. Part of the reason for the comforting feeling is that I literally grew up just over a mile away from the church. I attended the finest education institutions that the area has to offer (Douglas Elementary School, Carroll Middle School, Sanderson High School, and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). I graduated from UNC in 2000 with a B.A. in Business Administration and moved to Washington DC to work in consulting. In Washington DC, I was invited to The Falls Church (Episcopal) and was first introduced to the Anglican Church. At The Falls Church, I grew in my love and knowledge of the Lord and got my feet wet in Ministry as I worked and served with the student Ministry for 3 years. The Falls Church will always be near to our family’s heart because my wife, Lindsay, and I first met in the parking lot of the church and were later married in the sanctuary! In the summer of 2005 Lindsay and I moved to Portland, Oregon (Lindsay’s hometown) to pursue my seminary degree at Multnomah Biblical Seminary. It was on this trek across the country that we first visited Church of the Apostles. We felt right at home even as visitors and dreamed about one day coming back to live and work among this community. We spent three great years in Portland enjoying time with Lindsay’s family, connecting into a solid church community, being trained in Ministry and expanding our family with the birth of our daughter, Kealy. Upon graduating in May of 2008 we journeyed back across the country to join the Apostles church family. We are thrilled to be back in Raleigh and are blessed by the opportunity to serve the Lord alongside of so many wonderful people here at Apostles. In my personal life, I love to spend time with Lindsay, Kealy and Grady and always enjoy sharing meals with good friends. I like to play with anything that bounces or rolls or involves a racquet or club or where there is a winner and a loser – more often than not, I am the loser…but I still love it! I enjoy relaxing with friends and family at the beach (or near any kind of water).
