Why are we starting a new campaign right after completing the capital stewardship campaign, Upon This Rock?
FREEDOM for MISSION is not a campaign but an ongoing initiative to become a debt-free church. We believe God’s “best and highest way of doing things” is living and ministering debt-free. To that end, we invite all to contribute to FREEDOM for MISSION and experience the joy of financial freedom for ministry as soon as possible.
Can I finish my Upon This Rock pledge by contributing to FREEDOM for MISSION?
YES. If you were not able to complete your Upon This Rock pledge and wish to do so in the future, please contribute to FREEDOM for MISSION, as the Lord directs. Contributions to FREEDOM for MISSION will be used for the same purpose as were our contributions to Upon This Rock--to reduce/payoff outstanding principle on Apostles' bank debt.
How much debt remains?
Apostles will have approximately $2.8 million in debt remaining at the conclusion of the capital stewardship campaign…assuming we collect 100% of the outstanding pledges by March 31, 2010. For a more complete answer click Letter from the Treasurer which appeared in The Pulse on Thursday, February 25th and provides a snapshoot of the financial impact of a debt-free church.
